I produced this Flash Video site for Brian Bartlett and his company Left Side Inc.
Brian and I met via my Bones Over Metal.com work. He’s an above the knee amputee and a downhill mountain bike racer. After a “freak” traffic accident, he was left without a right leg. The following video and the supporting website tells the story of a guy that won’t be kept down.
Brain speaks at schools, companies, and organizations about his journey and how it is in all of us to overcome great obstacles and be successful in our goals. You can learn more about Brain and Left Side Inc at the website.
This project is a perfect example of how Web2.0 tools like podcasts, blogs, and sites like Youtube can be used to make already viral content more contagious. We designed the site, to allow the user to interact with Brian and experience him in the way that they would should he speak to them at one of their engagements. We also set it up to help him continue to develop a following on the Internet. You can find his video on Myspace, Youtube and on Bones Over Metal’s Podcast. Plus the video is embeddable, so anyone who wants to grab the code from his site can embed it on their site or blog. In this way the project truly is user driven.
